Do you mean multiple retrievals? Yes I think you technically could rack up retrievals. The transfers are what counts for whatever reason.

So if you did multiple FETs from one stim period, they consider that one cycle?

Good question OP. For insurance, a cycle is considered any transfer. So for instance, my insurance covers up to 3 attempts per live birth or up to a certain dollar amount, whichever comes first. For them, a cycle is anything that goes to a transfer, be it a fresh full cycle and transfer or an FET. I know that isn't what you are asking, though.

I can’t find a straight answer as to what is considered a full IVF cycle? So when statistics are cited that says it takes up to 3 cycles for most women to achieve a live pregnancy, it is hard to know what that means. For instance, what if a woman has multiple PGS normal embryos and she isn’t successful with the first FET but is with the second...is that one or two cycles? Or are they referring to needing to be stimulated more than once? I’m just curious as to what some of these clinics and studies are actually citing. Thoughts?
