You realize you reveal your hypocrisy, right? You realize that you are scanning post after post after post in a sub-forum aimed toward supporting parents help their children (gasp, yes, children!) through one of the most important decisions of their lives just to post your supposed parenting superiority about how kids should get into college. If you truly believed in laissez-faire parenting throughout the college selection process you wouldn't even be reading posts on this forum at all.

OP, ignore this PP. It's fine to want to have a look and to be prepared if your kid asks for help or your opinion. Some teens need help with this--it's pretty daunting at first for some. You are not helicoptering or infantilizing your DC to be aware of what is involved in a decision that will affect your whole family and finances for years to come.

Common App main section is only part of it. Each college has its own section. You need to select colleges and look around the site at their specific questions and essay prompts.

What do you think will happen? They have an option for people to register just as a non-student to look around because they know parents and schools want to be able to help students who have questions.

There is no way to screen shot the entire Common App. It has multiple sections (academics, tests, activities).

I've done that it is is extremely disjointed or the examples appear to be from many years ago. Hoping for one cohesive image/link in its most recent iteration.

You can set up a “fake” parent account that’ll give you the chance to explore the app in detail. It’s a good way for you to learn how the app is set up without messing up your child’s application.

Google common app and hit the image tab. Lots of screen shots there!

I can't seem to find one that doesn't require me to have a login. I just want to see what it is like.
