DH's stepfather is turning 80 in March. The family is not close (often boarding on barely politely civil), but 'nice' gifts are expected (and cause drama if not given). This is 2nd marriage for both DHs mom and stepfather so they combined two complete households and have EVERYTHING the could ever need or want, and then some, so I am trying to figure out an 'experience' gift. He is educated and well-read, but does not like to travel. His health can be iffy so I'm wary of giving him something that occurs on a specific date. I was thinking maybe some private behind-the-scenes tour of one of the museums or monuments but I'm not finding anything obvious online. Any ideas you folks out there have to help me keep the family peace? Thank you!
