Your ex works and the other mom's don't. It's as simple as that. At age 8 he should be signed up for team activities and not be worried about play dates.

My 8yo has plenty of friends and I dont do any of those things either.

How ridiculous! She doesn’t need to make friends with the other moms in the first place. This will become more and more true as the kids get older. I am not friends with my the parents of my kids’ friends, in most cases (kids are 9 & 11).

Sign your son up for activities- soccer, little league, karate- whatever. Invite kids over to play- there is likely a parent directory. Throw a big birthday party this year. Lots of things you can do. And offer to drive your son or better yet- sign up to coach. They always need volunteers.

Junior league??! That has zero to do with anything.

Your ex wife is not the problem here. What are YOU doing to facilitate your kids’ friendships?

I made friends and my children made friends by being our introverted selves, not because I volunteered at school or elsewhere, OP.

Your ideas about socializing are outdated and wrong.
