No.

I have a budget for parties which is $15-$20 and that does not go up or down just because it is an expensive party at a fancy venue, or a small party in the park.

No. If someone choose's to have what you consider to be an over the top party. It's their business to do so.

You should give whatever you feel you would give no matter how much the party costs. That cost is not your concern.

How nice they asked you and or your child to be included.

No. The parents control their party budget, I control mine. If they want to host an expensive party, that's on them, but it has nothing to do with how much I spend. That depends on my budget and sometimes how close my kid is to their kid (I might spend more for a good friend).

Wouldn't even cross my mind. If a child's parents can afford an expensive party, the child is likely not wanting for much. I'd stick with my standard gifts.

Though, for more expensive weddings, I do give more to help out the newlyweds.

We have been invited to a party where parents are going over the top.

Do I need to give a bigger gift?

This is a 3yo party. I usually gift a $20 puzzle or toy (paw patrol, fire truck, Melissa Doug toys).
