Arresting? Really?

Yes. Go on the 1D or 2D MPD listserv. 30+ over is an arrestable offense.

Anyone doing 65 mph down Connecticut Ave not only needs to be arrested, they need to dragged out back behind the police station and be beaten with rubber hoses until the cops can't lift their arms anymore.

I'm pretty sure CT is a 25 or 30mph zone all the way to MD. It's definitely all 25mph once you pass Cleveland Park heading south.

Most recently the cop(s) have been posted up where CT Ave comes up from Dupont circle.

Wow - if true that is great news but surprised I didn't hear it elsewhere.

Most likely they are arresting people for driving without a license which in DC is a mandatory arrest.

With drivers regularly failing to stop at stop signs, a camera at 27th and R streets SE racked up 1,272 tickets in May and 604 in June. At Fessenden and 44th streets NW, 662 drivers got tickets in June and 304 got tickets in May.

Wait, they have cameras that catch drivers failing to stop at stop signs? Can they install these all over the city? I almost get run over every day be people treating the stop sign near my house as a "slow down to 20mph sign"

If you make sure to always

a. check the posted speed limit signs
b. not exceed the posted speed limits by 12 mph or more

then you don't have to worry about where the speed cameras are located.

Yes, so unrealistic and so many drivers still driving more than 10+ mph above the speed limit.

Gotta get to that red light as fast as possible!

Why don't you just slow down?

Both roads are congested most of the time around the intersections so all speeding does it get you more time at the intersections twiddling your thumbs.

BTW you could have used google to find the answer to your questions in less time than it took me to type up this response.
