I was going to suggest the villages movement. I know there is one up and running in Kensington.

Check out the villages movement, which offers some assistance (driving, possible one-off household tasks but probably not routine cleaning and laundry). There is often a fee to join, but then volunteers provide some services and social activities:

The charity is long term medicaid but they need to go into a nursing home. Some states will pay for assistance via medicaid but Maryland is not one of those states.

Probably not for free, is that what you are asking?

Is there a charity or government service that can help provide household services (cleaning, laundry etc.) to a senior with a very low income but who stills lives independently?

I try to help as much as I can, but with a full-time job, it’s getting beyond what I can handle.

This is in Montgomery County.
