Email Mr. Kerwin -- he sent out a spreadsheet of parent info for each session so we could find our own carpools.

"The Summer Media Institute (SMI) is a week long summer camp offered to 6th graders joining the Humanities program. This optional camp is a great way for students to meet new classmates, get to know the building, meet a few teachers, and be introduced to the media technology used in the Humanities program. There will be either four or five summer sessions offered. Dates have not yet been approved or set. Each day class will run from 8:30am – 12:30pm Once this program has been approved by MCPS for summer 2019 I will share all details and registration information. Unfortunately, MCPS transportation is NOT provided. You should expect to hear more about the SMI in late April or early May."
It was a great experience for my kid. They worked in small groups (3 students) to write, film, and edit a short movie trailer. Great chance to get comfortable with Eastern, get excited about media, and meet other students.
Thank you so much!! Do you happen to remember what week that was - late June, July, or right before school started?
