I called them last month and they said next spring. Price for infants is still the same that the OP mentioned at 2700/month, which is higher than all of the other daycares that I have checked with so far.

I will say, while I appreciate the PP with the information about the Penn Quarter Director, the name that she provided is different than the name listed on the GP website. So I'm not sure if this Stephanie is going to be working at the GP location, but she is not currently being advertised as the Director.

Does anyone know when Kinderare is opening or if it is?

Families considering the Glover Park Kindercare, be forewarned: the incoming director, Stephanie Strother, is leaving her current post at Penn Quarter Kindercare with a less-than-stellar reputation among both teachers and families. After several incidents at the center, including one in which she directed teachers to feed ice cream (an allergen) to infants without the knowledge or approval of families, causing one infant to suffer an allergic reaction--and then lied about it--we decided we couldn't entrust our child in her care and quickly withdrew. She never admitted culpability for the incident, despite multiple teachers separately recounting the same set of facts.

She will never admit when she's wrong, and unfortunately, Kindercare management who are well aware of Stephanie's many shortcomings refuse to hold her accountable because--as was explained to us--it's so difficult to find and keep people in these roles. Regrettably, some of the best teachers we've had in a daycare setting left Penn Quarter Kindercare because of the toxic, unprofessional, and vindictive behavior Stephanie directed toward them.

Obviously, you'll make your own decisions about whether to consider enrolling here, and godspeed if you do. I'm sharing this so you have full awareness of what to expect.

You're in NW DC?

Yup, in GP. To be clear, we pay above board, and our nanny has all her certifications and does continuing ed through WH nannies.

"Toddlers" - whatever that means. Price includes diapers, wipes, and snacks. But doesn't include breakfast or lunch.
My guess is that infants will be higher? There's not much detail.

They took over a small two story office building and are doing a gut renovation. There is a very small parking lot, so I have no idea how drop-off/pick-up would work as you can't park on Wisconsin or Cathedral during rush hours.
I guess they are expecting everyone to walk their kids?

The property is right next to Guy Mason rec center, so I'm guessing they will walk the kids to the park. There's no room on the Kindercare property for their own outdoor play area.

The option everyone does is a Nanny Share.
Some families would prefer a daycare. That sounds a bit high for infant care in the area - but BCDC is $2400.
What does a family pay for a Nanny these days in Glover Park?

BCDC is a better deal, but I guess you're paying a $300 premium (plus food) to Kindercare to avoid the reverse commute.

If anyone in the GP/CP area can share info on the cost of a nannyshare, that would be relevant to us!

How long until they lower rates? Everyone in the neighborhood is scoffing at these prices!
