We use this and my DS loves it. It has a “nap” setting we use for quiet time. It turns yellow when there are 30 minutes left (I think... maybe 15) and then green when it’s time to come out. So not quite the countdown you are looking for but signals when it’s almost time to come out. We started it at 2.5 for sleep and naps and now sometimes he naps or just does quiet time in his room. Sometimes when it’s quiet time he’ll read to it which is cute. If you don’t already you should follow theworkspaceforchildren on Instagram. She’s big into encouraging quiet time/independent play in kids (even has an ebook on it) and I find her very real and relatable (unlike most mom bloggers on IG).

I have a Gro Clock that I'm pleased enough with that I bought a second for my 2nd child since I'm still using the original for quiet time with my 4 year old. It has stars that count down as the time passes and it displays the time (but not a numeric countdown timer). There is a separate setting for naps and night so if you follow a consistent schedule you'd rarely need to set it (if ever.)

Good luck. My therapist recognized that I was overwhelmed with the kids, too. Unfortunately that's about all she was good for and now I need to find another one.

For me right now, I want to buy three for the purpose of starting quiet time for each child. I discovered through counseling that a little quiet time in the day is what I need right now; and my children are good ages to be able to play independently for a while. Sahm, husband with doctor hours. Possible more childcare in the future, but for now I’m with them all day with little alone time. Always one is staying up way too late, so my days are long.

Comparing a regular timer vs “fancy” Ok to Wake, I think I need it because it is a clearer communicator to my children. For instance, do they display how much time is left? Then my two reading kids can get a sense of what time is left?

I also bought one cheap $5 one, and it’s annoying to set — I would like easy, easy time setting features so I don’t have to fiddle too much.

Are there other features you like? Tell me your experience with the one you have! Cost not an issue unless it’s $50+... I’ve said I want three. I could maybe buy 1 or 2, and have them share simultaneously or take turns....but with your experience would three just be easier?
