Things to factor in:
DA provides that ECNL does not:
- 4 days of training
- Live training tracking during practice ( for coaches to see "effort" and connections)
- videos distributed / posted of every game
- InStat game results (a significant amount of data - shots on goal, passes, passes completed, runs)
- ZERO parent managers - all professionally managed
Is this a requirement for all DA teams or is this just the case with this particular one?
Except for the live tracking, all dA teams. For example, professional videos are required as part of the DA. This has been amazing for us for college recruitment, but the team also studies footage.

They do not all have the Live training tracking or InStat game result data -- my DD does not get that.
All DA teams

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I can't speak for the DA teams, but I know the local ECNL clubs all do things differently. With some of the clubs your parents are generally responsible for getting you there for most of the away games (bus for a couple) while other ECNL teams take buses to all away games and stay as a team. They all have pluses and minuses, but the reality is they are all fairly expensive. If you are a Virginia ECNL team you should expect away trips to Columbia/Greenville SC once, Wilington/Raleigh NC once, and Charlotte/Greensboro once. You also then have to assume 3 showcases (most of the locals seem to play ECNL SC (3 night trip), ECNL FL (4 day trip), and ECNL NJ (3 day stay).
Very helpful. Thank you! Can anyone comment on DA? Virginia teams in particular? How many away weekends for games and also how many showcases do they do and for how many nights?

DA gives you more bang for the buck. The overall out of pocket costs are comparable, but ECNL shuts downs for much of spring due to HS soccer. So you spend more at ECNL if you want to keep training on par with DA. Take a look at the game schedules to see the difference.
Part of the reason DA gives you more is US Soccer subsidizes DA by paying the cost for all game refs, league administration, etc.
