I believe the correct term is “jobby”.

A hobby job is a job where an employer hopes to find someone happy to be underpaid for what the job entails. Red flags are "Perfect for a retiree, student or stay-at-home mom." Do you really want to work for someone that cheap?

Just get a job that interests you.

Weird troll. Insulted? He makes $2M, you don’t rock that boat.

If this is real, and he is encouraging you to get a job, I would worry he is strategically trying to lower alimony.

How many kids do you have?

Dh has a hobby job. He sold his business a couple of years ago and "retired" but he can never really be retired as he would get too bored. So he writes software, which is what his business was. But he can do it from home in his own time and only take on a couple of projects at a time.

A hobby job is a job you don't need in my opinion. Retail positions require too much flexibility to be hobby jobs. My husband also makes way more than I could and I have the same predicament. Nothing ever seems worth it. I volunteer but it's not the same.

I think a hobby job is anything short of maxing out 401k contribution plus paying for childcare while you do it.

"affects" you could tutor! Haha

Seriously you just need a job with strict hours and no outside demand. But in your place I would find a good volunteer role so that you can really call the shots. Or take up golf.
