DD1 got period at 12.5 and grew another 2 inches.
DD2 got period at 14 and grew another 4 inches.

I didn't. Got my period the month before I turned 10. I was always the tallest then I just stopped. Still 5'4".

DD got her period last summer at 13.5. She’s grown at least another 2 inches. She’s 5’9”.

My daughter grew the most right before period and then an additional 3 inches right after. She was and still is very short. It’s been 4 years since she got her period.

Doctor said to expect another 2 inches after period begins.

Wow that's tall for 12! Are you and your spouse tall?

I'm 5'8" but was fully grown by 13. I don't think that's normal.

I did. I was 13 and 5'1" at menarche and I'm now 5'7".

My daughter grew another inch (inch and a half?) but the majority of her growing was pre-period

12 is average in terms of age of 1st period. My daughter grew an additional 2 inches.

Not much. Starting early is not good for height. Sad but generally the case.

I’m curious about this too! Also parent of a very short 12 year old.

She grew all over. She was tiny, tiny to start. Her period started shortly before she turned 13. She turns 14 in a few days and has grown and filled out in the past year. The amount of food she packs in now is amusing. She was healthy before, but looks much healthier now.

My 12 year old will probably get her period any day now based on all the signs. But she’s still very short! I hope she can still get taller even if she gets her period. What was your dd’s experience?
