I know plenty of people who sent their kids to Canada and us for school.

In Canada the fees are different for Domestic and International students.

For example: in Canadian $

Domestic Students: Fall & Winter term: $7,822
International Students: Fall & Winter term $23,990

I don’t know how you could possibly make this statement given the diversity of schools, but even more they are very different models of education.

2 kids on our block both happy at McGill and my friend's son is recent graduate and also did great at McGill. It is on our list for sure.

pp^^ another question. Anyone reading this thread from Buffalo, NY? Toronto is geographically close and these readers might know of the downsides.

The educational system in the UK (and Canada for that matter) is very different than that in the US. It's not impossible but it's not as easy to get in and adapt from the US.

Would an American resident pay the same tuition as a Canadian resident? Are there "out-of-country" rates?

So is the US but in a different way. Perhaps you feel like you are in a higher class here than you would be in the UK.

It’s logistically complex. And No network for jobs in the US after they graduate. But your point about cheaper and better is true.

My kid is too wimpy to be so far from home. I'll tell remind him again of his options in couple of years.

My DC is at school in the UK - the bit about the drinking is decidedly not the case. I was hopeful that kids wouldn't binge because the drinking age is 18. However, they binge before going out to the club (called pres) because it's cheaper. Drugs don't seem to be prevalent in DC's social circle.
