Not to burst a bubble but your combined net worth just crossed $1 million. Your individual net worth is 1/2 of that. Still not bad but everything is easier in two player mode!

I am 35 and DH is 40.

I don't think you understand what "net worth" means.

to PP, I am hoping we hit $2m in the next five years. then I can leave biglaw and do....I dunno, something else.

Our home equity is about $500k+ so we definitely count it in our net worth. Congrats!

We finally hit liquid savings (non retirement) above what our mortgage debt is. That was a nice moment.

Yay OP! Go celebrate, and now set your next target!

(DH and I were like you - we hit $1M combined just before we hit 40. Given the markets and our continued saving and investments, we are now closing in on $2M 5 years later.)

Yeah, are you counting home equity? Because that's a game changer, and yes, I'm comparing because this is DCUM and that's what we do.

I can't really talk to anyone except DH about this, so here I am anonymously.

According to the personal capital app, our savings and investments just crossed over the $1m mark (and are at $1,009,671 at the moment).

Feels good. 41 years old, so maybe this isn't great for our age, but it feels good nonetheless!
