Napping away from home and family is hard for most babies, especially when other babies are crying because they want to be held.

OP, totally normal for you to want your child to sleep better during the day. Is her lack of naps impacting her welfare overall? I'm a STM and also have a 7 month old currently at a center. On a good day she naps 1 hour. When she's with me on the weekends, it's closer to 3 hours during the day. I experienced the same thing with my now 3 yr old - she never napped at day care. Sometimes she would get 15 minutes.

She's fine now, and I think your child will be, too. If you don't think this is adequate, you need more individualized care, which you will only find with a nanny.

No. You need a nanny, not a daycare if you want this individual attention. At a daycare kids are put down and they fall asleep on their own with minimal help. Yes you were asking too much.

OP here. Valid. We have not sleep trained. She is teething and sick, so we held off until those two situations resolve. I'm FTM, and open for advice.

What help are you hoping for from them? Some back rubbing is reasonable, but a whole song and dance probably isn’t.

Also, what is her night sleep schedule like? Do you nurse to sleep?

And what do you mean by "helping her sleep?" Holding her to go to sleep?

Excellent questions, plus OP really needs to address the overall possible causes of her child’s sleep problems.

Maybe. Depends on what the overall class dynamic is. Usually teachers take breaks at nap time so it’s harder to do 1:1, especially if some other kid ends up needing help.

Is it too much to ask my DD's teachers at daycare to help her fall asleep? Her class has two teachers and there are six children in the classroom. DD is having trouble napping and sleeping overall. Whenever I ask the teachers to help, they make it seem like they don't have the time to help her. I'm debating on removing her from the center all together. Am I being unreasonable?
