I’ve used both these services as back up care through work. They both seem fine. I would doubt College Nannies would be meaningfully cheaper, but I’ve never paid myself so I don’t know.

Can you ask people to pick your kids up/carpool for any of these?

My husband would turn his schedule inside out if it meant avoiding to pay someone.

Actually, that’s what he does. It’s called being a parent.

It's not ok for your husband to feel angry and resentful about this. Are you aware that this is a serious problem in your marriage?

You have a few months to work on this problem.

Why don't you have him flex his days when you are home you do more and when you are gone he can do more when you are gone?

You are going to pay a premium for this if its just a few days and you'll need to provide a car or pay them mileage. Some many may get out early and want it.

THey are his kids. If this stirs up anger you guys have bigger issues.

He should be helping you find coverage if he doesn't want to help.

There’s nothing special about WH Nannies, believe me.

All that they’re selling is guaranteed availability from a reasonable adult. That’s it. It costs a lot because you dictate the exact hours you want them.

It should be used as a last resort, for emergencies, but when you have months to plan.

Seriously?? Your husband. The father of the children. And I have a husband who works a lot of hours at a big job, so I get it. But he can come home a few hours earlier for 4 days in April with this much advance notice.

Having your husband take PTO and come home early to take his kids to activities and feed him dinner.

you can ask on your local listserv, but it may be hard to get someone to do something so temporary this far in advance.

My kids are older (13, 11, 9) and have tons of activities. I work from home with a very flexible schedule but I'm going away for four days in April and two days in June on a business trip and want some advice on a service that can send a reliable nanny that can drive my kids around, make simple dinners and make sure they don't get into mischief until my husband gets home at 7:30. The prices at White House Nannies makes me gag, but I would do it if there wasn't any other choice. What are some good alternatives in this situation? TIA!
