I’d rather get a cool secondhand action figure than dollar store trash.

I think it's a great idea and would do that or nothing. But make sure there are multiples of each figure. So like not just one Spider-Man because inevitably everyone will want that one.

How is this any different from the matchbox cars that act as balloon weights and each kid takes a balloon home? I see post about that all the time and others co sign what a great idea that is to use the decorations as a favor and it is not crap. It sounds fine to me. But I do see that some kids might fight - so maybe pick them up and put them in bags before you end the party

Just skip favors. Agree lots of drama.

something separate and new, even if just $1. preferably all the same so there is no fighting over things. Used action figures is weird.

Sounds like a fight during and after the party. Nope

They’re used. I got a bunch off eBay.

I can picture kids fighting over who gets what figure. Some will be able to handle it and others won’t. Hold some back and give those out as they leave.

For 5 yo party, I’m piling up a bunch of action figures on the tables that the kids can play with. Can they pick one to take home as the favor? Or should I hand out something separate as well?
