Subject: What is your emergency preparedness plan?
The first part of our plan is the realization that we’re not getting out of the area. Ever been on the Beltway during a snowstorm at rush hour? Or on 270 the Wednesday before Thanksgiving when it’s pouring? Take that and multiply it by a factor of 15.
Figure out how to get your kids and get home. Then hunker down with a bottle of Scotch and either watch the news or just finish the bottle and wait for the inevitable.

Both cars have: diapers, wipes, extra clothes for kid and that adult, sippy cup, toddler food pouches. ((We don’t carry diaper bag each day.))

Nope - just have friends and family who emphasize the preparation. Same plan exists at different levels for fire and natural disasters.

Since 9/11 we always have a stash of cash, water, flashlights/batteries, and extra cell phone battery charger packs. We’re less good about keeping food stockpiled.

What is your and your partner (if applicable) plan on case of terrorist or non weather related emergency plan to get out of the area?
