I am super freaked out by ex's or acquaintances from 10/20 years ago approach me. Especially if they're all hyped up.

The earliest ex is from 20 years ago and honestly I don't remember them or what they look like. One of them I saw recognized / remembered me which I find odd since it's been 20 years and people look different. The same thing happens with people from high school though and they'll say hi and I have no idea who they are.

I’m friends with all but one. The one I went no contact with and it’s been so long that I’m not sure I’d recognize him. I’d probably think to myself “hmm, that man looks familiar - where do I know him from?” The others I know where they are and they’d call if they were in town.

I cringe thinking of any interaction. Once you break up and it's been awhile, you're strangers with a common memory. No way do I want a Dan Fogelberg meet in a grocery store moment.

It’s all about the energy that you allow to enter your space. There’s one exbf that I bump into a couple times a year and we talk for 2-3 hours, but feel zero sexual tension. We just enjoy each other platonically on a rare basis, but can’t be real friends. And then, there’s an alcoholic exbf that is no joke homeless that I have crossed the street to avoid.

Same for me. In general, I'm not excited to see people I know in public. I hate the awkward conversation when I'm trying to get my grocery shopping done or whatever.

Happened today in airport. 95% sure it was an ex and we totally would have bumped into each other. But I was too chicken, so I diverted course. Wondering how abnormal I am.
