We've been very happy with Children in the Shoe downtown. We were briefly at Family Academy and there was nothing wrong per se, but we didn't love it. I've used Childtime as backup care a couple of times when Shoe was closed (they take the last two days in August for training). It seemed fine, but it is hard to tell much from a couple of days.

I know a family left Shoe to go to Goddard because it was more convenient. They were happy with the move because of the convenience and Goddard was perfectly good, but they would have stayed otherwise.

I've heard good things generally about Wonders.

I am moving to the Hillmead neighborhood in Bethesda in early February and seeking full day daycare/preschool for my 2.5 year old. She is currently at a Montessori daycare near our current neighborhood of Petworth NW DC but we do not want to make that commute for long once we move. I've looked a bit into the Goddard School of Bethesda, River Road Children's Center, and a few of the centers in downtown Bethesda. Would love to get some feedback on any of these as well as any intel on potential upcoming openings.
