Test results are not mailed. You are either accepted or not.

The CogAT scores with number of correct answers showed up in the parent portal. We then received a recommendation letter that also included the MCPS percentiles (and national's as well) in the mail.

Three years ago, test scores were mailed along with the median accepted scores

There was a parent meeting, but either there was no specific open house for the students or our invitation was lost in the mail.

DC was accepted to the Clemente program and there was what they called an 'acceptance meeting' in late January (with the deadline to accept/decline in early February). DC was also later accepted to MLK of the waitlist in early March but there were no further informational meetings after that, to my knowledge.

I think the purpose of the in-boundary meeting is to show you what your zoned school has to offer. You can then compare that to any magnet programs you may be invited to, and make a more informed decision.

Usually magnet families get their own Open House or meeting, right?

I wouldn't assume that -- they will have a separate open house for admitted magnet students. The in-boundary process at all the middle schools follows its own schedule that has nothing to do with the magnet/lottery results. Last year, magnet results were received on 1/16, and lottery results were a few days or a week later.

I received a notice that TPMS is holding a parent meeting for incoming 6th graders on Jan 15 (we are in-boundary). Should we assume that magnet and DCC lottery results will be announced by then?
