I'm not being snarky, just wondering if there is a reason you chose DC. Maybe you will be here, family, etc, but if you are just looking for a camp, somewhere, anywhere--have you considered going overseas? This Summer is the Euro 2020 in Europe and there are a number of programs running camps + going to matches. Quite a fun way to spend the Summer and seeing top flight football in Europe is a lot better than two-a-days in the heat of D.C.

That’s very interesting! How do I find out more about the programs offered?

It's run by Coach Galanis. It's been a little while but at the time, you had to submit a video of your child and be accepted to attend. Players were divided based on skill level. It was actually longer before (it was all day), but it's still a respectable length now. When we went, it was very well run and technical

Thanks PP! The link didn’t come through. Are you able to resend it please?

Thanks all! I have family in DC so that’s why I’m asking about camps.

HP Elite runs great weeklong camps. Not residential though.

Was he asking only for local camps? I didn't catch that. I thought he just wanted to know about quality camps.

The best local summer soccer camps are the independent ones like NPC.

Coerver camps (elite group) are fantastic for development/practicing foot skills.

The boys play all day. It can indeed be hot but the players (who are coaches for most age groups) make sure the kids have appropriate breaks, water, etc. If your son is good, make sure it is the ID camp, not regular summer camp. I would have him board there at that age. It is easier to bond with the other players, almost all of whom board. It’s fun and competitive for the kids. The evaluations are detailed and have been accurate in my view, with very constructive criticism.
