23 to 33. I looked better then but I’m happier and in a better place now.

42 vs 52. Hmmmm. I have certainly aged. I have more gray hair. More wrinkles. I’m still very fit. I weigh exactly the same today as I did when I graduated from high school - 115 pounds. My kids are grown. A lot of the stressors I had in my 20s/30s/early40s is gone. I’m sure that helps.

I’m more secure. I’m ok with getting older. I have no desire to look any younger than I am. Stuff that used to bother me just doesn’t anymore. I’m kinda that gray haired old hippy who is all about love and light. But will certainly tell you to fuk off when necessary. I’m good with that.

I am the ten-year-older version of myself. 31 versus 41. Same weight, pretty much the same hair, had a developed sense of style in my early 20s so no cringing at the clothes from ten years ago. I just look ten years older. Not “old” yet (but I know it’s coming.....) but older.

25 vs 35. Holding steady. Discovered Retin-A and better makeup. Equally fat

I look better in some ways and worse in others. In 2009, I was 25 so I definitely had that youthful look. I was also really thin and in great shape. But my style sucked, I didn’t have a ton of money so I was holding on to my old clothes from college and even high school so I definitely did not look current for the time. I also really struggled with makeup. I realize that was not the best time for flattering beauty trends, but I still had the overly-thin eyebrows and frosty eyeshadow of my youth. Now I’m a little heavier, a size 6 instead of a size 0-2. It doesn’t look too bad on me because I’m tall. But my makeup always looks great now - thanks YouTube tutorials! I have a lot more gray hair but I’m not doing anything about it until I stop with the ridiculous post-partum hair loss.

24 vs 34: worse. Christmas 2009 i was at my skinniest and fittest of my adult life. Now I am 8 weeks postpartum with my second kid, 20 lbs heavier, none of my clothes with buttons fit, I look like a person who never sleeps more than 3 hours, and I'm starting to get gray hairs. I miss being young and cute.

40 vs. 50. Definitely worse now. I've gained 50 pounds, gotten more gray, and more wrinkled.

Much better now but it’s because my income has nearly tripled in ten years so I’ve the means to take better care of myself. Even healthy eating costs more. It comes down to economics. Regular facials and massages, good haircuts, tailored clothes, hired help to minimize stress all contribute to this. I grew up very poor and my distant family has not changed their circumstances unfortunately and as a result have not aged well.

Rummaging through some old pictures from 10 years ago and cringing at several (32 vs 42). Although I was younger, I look 100% better now. I attribute the improvement to recent significant weight loss, knowing how to style myself better, more money and divorce. Surprised at how much the stress of my marriage shows in the pictures. I thought I was hiding it well but I was clearly unhappy.

Were you better then or now?
