DS and DD take weekly lessons at Bach 2 Rock. I gave each teacher a $25 Amazon card.

We gave 1 lessons worth in a cash gift. I know there are mixed opinions about giving cash, but DC's teacher is young and needs the money. Also, that generation rightfully recognizes the downsides of gift cards.

I usually do a starbucks card and some candy, or something like that. I think it's a nice gesture, but I also think my kids' piano teacher is really expensive and since he works alone, he gets all of it.

Do people tip their kids' music teachers? Our kids have had music lessons in the past but none of them ever stuck and I'm not sure any were happening over Christmas. Now our son has a fantastic instrument teacher who owns his own business (past lessons were through a music store). Should we give a holiday gift? How much, if so?
