That is great.

Slow down or pay.

Seems fair to me.

What cameras in DC are they? I’ve certainly driven more than 1mph over and have never gotten one in 5 years living here. I always assumed they were set to 11 over so I make sure to never go more than 10 over, if I even go over.

The mph should stay the same, people driving +/- 5 from that should be presumed to be driving the limit, and anyone else (over OR under by more than 5 mph) should be subject to a ticket.

I drive under because it’s the only wa6 to avoid a ticket. If that makes me a hazard to some jerk behind me who wants to go faster, well, that’s just too bad.

I just drive 20 mph no matter where I am in the city, unless it’s a school zone, where I drive under 15 mph

I figure I’ve paid about a thousand dollars in photo radar tickets in the last three years, and that’s enough for me. No more. From now on I only drive under 25 in DC.

Don’t like it? Tired of being stuck behind me? Too bad. But if you’re behind me, you at least won’t be getting any tickets.

Either don’t speed or pay the ticket and quit your whining. It’s all in your control.

What's the problem?

If you don't want to get a ticket from a speed camera, then drive below the speed limit. The speed limit is the maximum speed you're legally allowed to drive under ideal conditions.

speed limit enforcement 1-5 over is unreasonable, no one gets pulled over for 1-5 over. Adjust the speed limit to 5 higher

If you adjust the speed limit to 5 higher, then people will drive 5 mph over that. You can already easily kill someone if you hit them driving under 25 mph. It makes no sense to encourage people to drive 30 or 35 just so you don't have to worry about getting a ticket for going 26.

Whether or not the police pull drivers over for it, it's still against the law. Drive below the speed limit, then you don't have to worry.

1 mph is in the margin of error for someone speedometer. Cops normally give the benefit of the doubt at up to 5 over, even in places where they enforce speed traps militantly like small towns that use it for revenue.
