No one is forcing you to live in the middle of nowhere, you do that by choice. You could choose to live in a high rise next to transit and not own a car, but you don't. So you can pay for your choices.

Nah, public transportation was created because it's an efficient way to get people from here to there.

Just add a huge personal property tax rate on cars valued over $20k. Make it proptional, so the rate goes up at the value increases. A $25k might be $500 annually, whereas a $30k car would be $1500, and a $35k car would be $3000, and so on.

That seems fair to me.

Latinos should get state subsidies or vouchers to reduce the cost of gas.

So a 500k house is for the rich in NOVA? Property tax money stays local and FX might add 1 to 8 to the rate. Virginia hasn't changed the LCI formulas so the massive influx of Central Americans is not reflected in the state allocations. Moreover there's a missing category for schools - those with limited or no formal education. FCPS talks about drop out rates, attendance.

68 SFH below 500k in this county and most are in Alexandria, Springfield, Herndon.

So Latinos aren't supposed to get tax increases? Some how immune while everyone else pays?

OP probably lives 100 miles from work and drives in every day with her Range Rover and has to fill up every other day. Hey here’s an idea, get a more fuel efficient car or stop complaining about paying for the roads you’re using.
