We open family presents on Christmas Eve and Santa presents on Christmas morning. Santa also brings Mom and Dad things, yeah new telephone system this year. Santa brings more of a theme gift set or one large gift and then a stocking and some small items as well.

Father Christmas brings everything, but sometimes leaves presents at other people's houses. When my kids stopped believing in him, it wasn't because of that, it was just that they realized the whole drive around the world wasn't plausible.

Now we have fun as a family pretending that Father Christmas is real, when actually no one believes anymore.

We don't "do" Santa. The kids know exactly who all of their gifts are from.

All other presents are from us or the people that give them - grandma, aunt, etc. The kids know we spend our hard earned money on gifts and decide if they are deserving based in their behavior and how they treat their current toys. Santa in our house has unconditional love and always brings the 1 gift. We don’t use naughty or nice as a threat. If the kids miss out on something because of their actions, I take responsibility and credit for that too.

The children's presents are from "Santa" and none from parents. I was told, and now tell my kids, that since Santa brings them a bunch of presents, mom and dad focus on getting each other gifts since Santa doesn't bring any to adults.

Gifts from relatives are totally separate, and credited to the givers.

For us, Santa’s gifts are wrapped and under the tree Xmas morning. Adults exchange gifts Christmas morning too. Those go toward the back of the tree so there is plenty of room for Santa’s gifts.

We do give our kids a couple small things like PJ’s on Christmas Eve, which is a festive and special night for us. Kids are 9 and 12.

Some, and Santa doesn't wrap. I actually had to fight my mother on this one as she insisted all presents must be wrapped! But why? I'm so glad I made that decision at the start.

We actually have Santa give just a few of the smaller gifts, and since I have 2 DDs fairly close in age who would enjoy those presents equally, they're not even labeled as being for a particular person. Only stocking items are designated for each girl. We may have to adjust at some point, but so far, it's worked out well.

Early on in my Santa-giving career, I read some sort of online plea regarding this gift-giving that really made sense to me. The plea asked that parents not designate the big, expensive gifts from Santa but rather from the parents themselves. That way, when kids compare their loot, they won't think that they were naughty if, for instance, Larla from next door got better presents.

Just some -- I just select a few presents that seem like likely candidates. He wraps, but in separate paper (this may have been a mistake on my part starting this because every year now I have to go get the special Santa paper and keep it secret).

All gifts are from real people. Santa gifts are charity gifts to make children feel better.
