So water can flow back into your pipes from a garden hose. It’s not a big issue with a hose for a few reasons.

It is a bigger issue if you run irritation like a drip hose. The water that is in contact with the ground can be sucked back into your hose and eventually your pipes.

Thank you for an advice . The breaker seems like what exactly I need to prevent the back flow !

Backflow is a real thing but a) don’t worry about it and b) get a vacuum breaker and then REALLY don’t worry about it.

The way the neighbor explained to me the Nozzle is the one can cause some type of pressure to back up the water . Hence here to confirm to make sure that’s not the case . And this is not for drinking purposes question but more as if water pressure could cause any issues .

Here is my question. I have company company to lay the concrete and I was told they need access to the water . I do not have currently the garden hose and they told me not to worry they will bring their old one. One of my neighbors mentioned the bacteria in garden hose. So can their old garden hose introduce some type of bacteria into my house water pipes? There are different water hoses some are with handle to start and stop and regular hoses. So I guess I am more concerned with start/ stop handle one .
