You shoot the syringe in her mouth and blow hard in her face. It triggers a swallow reflex. Can’t explain it but it works. I gave my son liquid meds like this a few times as a toddler and it always worked. It’s like a sneeze — just happens and it’s over. Offer juice after if they hate the taste of the med. helps to have the kid lie down and move fast.

I use Feverall too. It works great.

DD3 hates medicine with a passion. And even when I manage to get it down her, chances are high that she will vomit it up within the next 10 minutes. I am so glad Feverall is an option.

Bribery? Offer a different treat if she drinks is (eg. A few mini M&MS, or some mini marshmallows, or even some screen time.

I used to give it to DD in a syringe like a baby bird (whatever, she’s weird), even when she got older. She loves the stuff now.

At the end, there are suppositories if you need, but that more unpleasant than getting them to drink 5cc.

That being said.. if she’s asleep, then that’s a good thing. She’s not too uncomfortable to rest.

Op here. I put the Tylenol in fruit punch and it worked!

Normal bribery doesn’t work on her.

Mixing with orange juice worked for us

They make a powder now for mixing in liquid.

I bribed with toys for antibiotics. For fever sometimes I would bribe with a cookie, and if that didn't work and the fever wasn't too high, I would just let them have a fever. It fights infection.

Yeah- plug the nose. It seems like (quick) torture, but it works. Your kid will be mad at you for a second, and then will feel better.

And plug the nose real quick so they swallow to breathe before they can spit it all over you.

Then apologize for forcing it down her throat. This worked with mine and the next time he took it willingly because he made the connection that the medicine made him feel better.

Also, for a 2 year old I'd do advil, not tylenol.

My 2.5 year old can be bribed with a chocolate chip or m&m. Also sometimes it helps to get the dose ready and set it down in sight and wait for him to be ready. When he’s too much of a mess for either of those to work, I resort to holding him down and squirting it in the side of his mouth while he’s screaming (not when he breathes in so he doesn’t aspirate it). It’s not great, but sometimes it has to be done.

Corner of the mouth, with a syringe, head tilted back. And tell her if she spits it out, you’ll have to start over.

I mix it with a lot of sugary juice. My pedi also suggested mixing medicines with chocolate pudding, so that's an option too. It turns out my kid hates pudding.

My toddler has a fever and she is a whiny mess. She refuses to take Tylenol- screams bloody murder. She just fell back asleep after whining and crying refusing to take the Tylenol.

Please help. Any suggestions.
