But some parents don't. And if it's a place you're familiar with, it's not completely crazy to think you'd stay there instead of coming back. Do I think that's your plan? Absolutely not. But I cant blame him if he's concerned.

Not sure if this is relevant but I have not received any child support or contributions to expenses this year.

He is the child's parent. You should have had discussion
about the holidays and who the child would be with for the holidays months ago.

Get refunds on the hotels. Get credits on the airline tickets.
Generally you can't refund the tickets but you can get
credits.

Out of country? Forget about it. I would never let my child go and would cancel the passports.

Get permission from him. You are going to have to work with
him at some point. Start working with him.

We live in different states and his filing basically halted the child support process all year. I am supposed to be traveling with my kid on vacation in a few days and the papers say I can't travel with the child without permission from him. He will definitely not approve now he has the power to do so, does anyone have ideas on what I can do in 3 days to address this? Hotels and tickets have already been paid for. Thank you.

Well you got 3 days to convince him otherwise. Get to reconciling.
