We let her watch videos occasionally (Dora, sesame, tumble leaf, etc.), but I feel really resistant to the princess stuff just because I find that stuff personally annoying. I don’t judge anyone whose kid is dressed as Elsa 24/7; I just can’t personally get into it (even though I’d be fine with my kid dressing as Dora). My kid has not asked to see any princess movies because she doesn’t know they exist. She plays “frozen” with friends every day at school, but she thinks it’s just a make believe game. I’m sure she’s totally confused as to why the other kids seem to all know various plot points and characters—for example, one kid told her she could be “olaf” and she decided Olaf was a kitty cat.
Anyway, I can’t decide if we should expose her to princess stuff just to make school/socializing easier for her since she’s totally confounded by the main game she plays during free time. I’m so resistant to opening the princess door!
Thoughts?
