And one clearly made by males that don’t think outside the box on these things. Women in my position are shafted once again.

I hear you, but, uh, you know the director of OPM is a woman, right?

At least now you do.

Female managers are sometimes worse than males. Because they want to prove they aren’t weak or whatever. Especially the ones without children or someone to care for.

I understand what you mean, but every school district in the region is at least on a two-hour delay. The roads are unsafe for school busses and commuters alike.

The standard for school busses and small children walking is different than for adults commuters.

Exactly. Wtf. I’m in upper MoCo and the snow is coming down here. I started a new position last week and am not yet telework eligible, so this clearly affects me. Worst case, I let my supervisor know that I’ll be in late and burn some annual leave if there’s no update.

Arlington, Alexandria, and Fairfax schools are opening on time.

I agree, OPM should update the status. Look at all the schools and programs delayed and closed. It’s ridiculous that there isn’t some type of flexibility.

No, every school district in the region is not on a two-hour delay.

OPM needs to update the status regardless of what it is. Someone isn’t doing their job.

1. You are exaggerating the extent of the impact outside of DC.

2. Are you new to DC? You need to have a back-up plan because this going to keep happening. There was plenty of notice of potential bad weather for you to figure it out.

Are you new to this OP? OPM doesn't make its decisions based on school openings or closings. As a WOHM I sympathize with you, but truly you need to appreciate that this is going to happen all the time and either accept that you're going to burn leave at times to deal with weather or come up with another solution. The weather is pretty mild so far so before-care programs are probably still functioning in most parts of the region.

There is a two hour school delay for anyone outside of DC. And some schools are closed. My manager is forcing me to take vacation time because my kids school is closed.
