Good Garrison principal.

No, and she has lasted longer than I hoped for.

I do not love my principal. She is nice... but refuses to manage/lead. Everything is about short term fixes. This creates long term problems.
Lots of unhappy folks.

The Murch principal is great, as is the AP. Supportive but not overbearing, and nice people.

+100. Janney is incredible! We’re so lucky that we bought nearly 10 years ago in AU Park.

Also Hardy, and could not disagree more. Ever heard of the Peter Principle? (Here, ‘Principal’). So apt in this case.

I like my principal. I think she is a thoughtful, guarded person and a good leader.

There is always a lot of drama surrounding the Lafayette principal. Do your research before taking a job there.

No I don't love my boss, but I love what I do. Once I get fed up to the point where I hate to see her face, I will look to move elsewhere like anyone with a job they don't care for after awhile.

I'm far away from from DCPS, but we just got a new principal at my school this year and I despise her. In a matter of months, she has single-handedly killed much of the joy, willingness to take risks/try new things in the classroom, and sense of job satisfaction most teachers enjoyed with our previous principal. The new principal wanders around campus with a sour face, never engages with students or even tries to talk to them, and spends her time doing classroom observations, then sending teachers multiple paragraphs of what they are doing wrong. When I see her coming, I feel sick. Finding colleagues crying is now common.

I used to love this school. Before the arrival of this woman, I never quite understood how great a role the principal has in setting the tone of a school.

Loved my last DCPS one and wish I could have stayed. Parents made it unbearable. Current principal has terrible leadership skills, so if this isn’t the principal’s last year there it will be mine. I also loved my principal in Maryland and wish she would come to DCPS. I’d go to any school to work with her again.
