Op here. No real budget. I prefer a premier convenient location where we won’t have to drive and I can walk to places with my toddler to eat, get coffee, etc.

I believe Allegheny and black bear are unavailable for our dates. Looking to go for the long FCPS weekend in January (Jan 24-28).

You won’t be. Snowshoe is too small. Parking is for the individual condos or there is a day lot for day skiers. You walk or take the bus.

Allegheny is my favorite. Rimfire is also a good option.

We generally stay in the townhouses in Black Bear Crossing. They are large, modern, and conveniently located.

Loggers Run THs are also ski in ski out, but the walls are thinner and not as modern.

Mountain Lodge has a good location, but the buildings and units are straight out of Hot Tub Time Machine.

Expedition Station is a good option, but the units are smaller.

For us, Allegheny springs is on the high end. We stay in Mountain lodge. It's kind of crappy, but basic and it works. Mountain lodge places are small (as are the Allegheny springs places we've seen). we go with another family and usually have dinner one night in one of our places and it can be a little. tight for 4 adults and 4 kids.

I agree it's difficult to figure out from their materials/website. There's just something confusing about it.

We have liked Allegheny Springs. We've also stayed in Soaring Eagle and while it's a little further away, they have very nice and big units for larger families. It close to a lift too.

Mountain Lodge. Cheap and convenient!

There are townhouses that are ski in/ski-out - I'd try them.

Allegheny or Highland are our favorites.

I’m staying at Allegheny Springs. Never been before

Agree stay in the village if possible. We liked Allegheny Springs & Highland House, both good for ski in/out, near pool facility & restaurants.

If you plan to eat in the restaurants make reservations in advance, or get there as soon as the lifts close.

The brigham premium places aren’t worth the premium price imo.

Dh has been once with our older kids. His friend rented a house. We are planning to go in either January or February. I originally thought I would rent a house but DH just told me we should stay in the village area where the lifts are located. I have never been so hard to understand where we should book.

Is there a hotel or condo that is best located?

We have 2 kids in elementary and a 3yo. Will most likely go with other young families.
