20+ kids would make my house very messy, a mess I would have to clean.

You could also look at Kids Choice or Beehive in Woodbridge. they both have older kid areas with the big bounce houses, and Kids Choice has the indoor pool.

Scramble is way too young for 8-10 year olds. If I had to bring my 9 and 10 year olds to a birthday party at Scramble, we'd make it work because I'd buy them something from the cafe and play Uno with them while their preschool sibling ran around and had fun.

Bottom line: Do something fun for the birthday kid! The parents of bigger kids will make it work.

—Open gym—not trampoline place b/c toddlers really shouldn’t be jumping in those places the way they are designed. Too easy for toddler break.
—aviation museum in college park
—bowling. Many lanes have the metal supports for little kids if it’s with the big ball. Bumpers optional. Duckpin the best.

Except these are super dangerous. I'd do Jumping Joeys. If the 8+ kids don't like that OH WELL it's not their birthday.

These places are too old for a 10 year old. Why are you inviting 10 year olds to a 3 year old's party? I have a new 9 year old, and he wouldn't want to go to a 3 year old party unless it was a sibling, and then he would be a helper, not playing.

Badlands is a good idea. He could tolerate that place if there were a lot of older kids there. Can you just do a separate party with just the 3 year old's friends?
