The court won't care if you are dating someone as long as you aren't doing anything weird in front of your kid.

States now err on the side of 50/50. You'd have to do something crazy bad to get custody changed. In VA, my friends ex has hit his other son, been investigated by CPS, in jail for 4 months for hitting his girlfriend. But because he hasn't hit my friend's kid, he still has 50/50 custody.

No- you'll be fine if you haven't endangered your kids- which you certainly have not. He's just making threats.

Currently have 50/50 custody of my daughter with my ex husband. He found out from my daughter that I’m dating someone. He wants to take me back to court so he can get full custody (with me paying him child support) because he doesn’t want another man around his daughter. My daughter hasn’t met him and it’s rich coming from him since he married his current wife and former AP two months after our divorce was final. Anyway, my question is, is he within his rights to do this? I don’t see how it’s fair if he is. We’re in Maryland if that helps.
