Accord hybrid is amazing if you an give up awd

I’ve loved my Subaru Outbacks and Legacies, but need a vehicle with better gas mileage for city driving. Lots of daily kid drop-offs and pick-ups. That said, I’ve driven Subaru’s for twenty years. I’m accustomed to the way they run. I know they have a hybrid, but it’s expensive for the quality and is also being removed from the CA rebate list, which is a good measure of effective hybrids. Any tips from someone who has been there, done that?
