+1. We gave 500$ when we had a nanny who started in September.

Give her a prorated bonus. She has been there about 1/3rd of the year so give her 1/3 of planned yearly bonus.

My bonuses never double. Start with a week and give 1.6 for all future years, if that’s your budget. She won’t be disappointed next year unless it’s less.

I'd give her $500 and same thing next year.
It's Christmas, you can give what you feel like giving.
When she leaves and if you're up for it you can give her a bigger bonus.

Nanny.

Wanted to see what people think is appropriate for a holiday bonus for our nanny who started Sept 15th... so she will have only been with us for 3.5 months. For our old nanny we typically did a bonus of 1.5 weeks of her salary (which was about $1,500). Was thinking maybe we would give new nanny a week’s pay to be nice, but I worry she will be disappointed next year if we then give her a week and a half and she expects more if she got a full week after less than 4 months work. How would you handle?
