Rowan is a boy’s name. Rowanne is the girl’s:

Not necessarily. Brooke Shields' daughter is Rowan. It's #211 on the popularity list for girls right now. #129 for boys.

Noah is very nice.

I know a girl (she is now about 20 years old) named Roan (pronounced the same as Rowan) so it seems feminine to me.

Rowen sounds like it would go better with your last name but I prefer Noah

Noah is way too popular now. I like Rowan.

What about Conor or Holden?

I like Rowan. I like Heath, which to me is sort of Rowan-like. I hate Ronan. Noah makes me think of "the drunkenness of..."

But it's about what YOU like, not about what I like.

OP here

Last name actually starts with Mc - I’m not aware that my husband’s side has any bit of Irish heritage. He’s actually mostly German.

It’s three syllables and ends in a N.

I Ike both those names a great deal. What’s your last name? How many syllables and of what ethnic origin? Rowan is very Irish.

We have two girls so we've never had to think of boy names. I'm super early but my husband randomly suggested the name Noah for a boy.

Thoughts on Noah or Rowan?
