They did say their numbers could more than double this year and that more IB programme course options could follow.

Hi, I'm a sophomore at Springbrook here (although not intending to do the IB program, so I won't be able to provide the firsthand experience you want). There has usually been ~30 kids in the IB program each year, and the majority of students seem to like the IB program for its rigor and well-rounded education.

Some things to consider are that (1) the math and computer science aspect of the Springbrook IB program is very weak (if you/your child want to pursue a career in that field, then AP would probably be better) and (2) the IB program especially at Springbrook is known for its strong emphasis on writing and the other humanities subjects

But Springbrook has had an IB program for NEC students for several years.

Correct. So presumably it will be different in some aspects, and the same in some aspects, and the people who go, will find out which is which. Same at Kennedy and Watkins Mill.

It is (or has been) just a small cohort each year. I met some seniors and a recent graduate a few nights ago. VERY sensible kids.

You are unlikely to get accurate info here. DCUM hates NEC schools almost as much as they hate DCC ones. Call the school and ask to speak to seniors. They can arrange.

Does anyone have any firsthand experience?
