OP, that coat looks great for the winters here! I highly doubt your preschool will have the kids out in 20-degree weather for hours or anything like that. Looks like a great coat.

I assume you’re in DC where the temperature rarely goes below 25 degrees during the time kids would be outside for playing. Read the reviews for the link you posted. Parents from North Dakota and Wisconsin and Connecticut all say it’s perfect for their kid. Only the parent from Alberta, Canada said it wasn’t warm enough.

She’ll be absolutely fine.

I don't know if they have them this year because we buy winter coats every 2 years, but in previous years, my kids have found the Snozu jackets at Costco to be super warm.

My friend who lives in Maine and husband works for LLBean HQ has this jacket. She said it's plenty warm. LLBean jackets have historically lasted us 2 seasons in sizing. DD will get this for xmas!

Your coat is fine. My kid rides horses and the mossburg is her favorite in cold. Buy a pair of thermals and your kid will be fine.

Agree with the PP, love Gap winter coats.

I personally would go with long feather puffer because they are super light and very cozy. They cover the legs as well and kids have
very thin legs and get cold very quickly there. Short jackets are fine for a car ride when the kid is covered with a blanky but
they are not so great when it is really cold out there and kid will have to stand in one spot for few minutes if needed be.

My go to place was GAP as they have always something good quality and not too heavy.
I have not seen this in person but just judging from the pictures, the second one is bit nicer but
the first one beats the second one with coziness and is porbably lighter. I always go light as kid
needs light otherwise they feel trapped and can not move with heavy jackets. I gave up Lands
End for little ones for that reason, they usually are great durable quality but so heavy
that they are useless.

Ll bean 650 jacket. Lightweight but very warm. Dd wore hers at 2 and at 3 and now has another one at 4 for winter.

Personally I like Columbia jackets because they list the temperatures they are designed for and whether jackets are wind/rain proof.
