XBox when they were 7 and 10. We made them pay for half; they saved all birthday/Christmas money, did extra chores for a few dollars here and there, and set up a few lemonade stands over the summer. It took a little less than a year.

8 year old DS got a switch last year. I love that it’s also handheld. We have a limited number of televisions in the house so XBox and PS4 won’t work for the time being.

We have had a wii... getting Xbox for Christmas. Boys 6 and 8. Allowed sports games only.

My 8 and 10 year olds are getting an Xbox for Christmas. We’ve held off until now but all their friends have one and they’ve been begging hardcore this year (as opposed to asking casually other years). Xbox over PlayStation mostly because that’s what they’ve said they want (probably bc of ftiends) though they’d be overjoyed with a PlayStation or switch too I’m sure.

My daughter got a Nintendo Switch for her 7th birthday. It had just come out, so she didn't even know it existed. She used to beg me to take her to Best Buy whenever we went to the mall, so that she could play Mario Kart on the old Wii U display they still had up. This went on for at least a year or two, but I don't think it ever occurred to her to ask me to buy the system. She just saw it as an arcade game in their store. When she opened the Switch box, she showed no emotion whatsoever. Then she opened the Mario Kart box and almost lost her mind.

Our ten year old just got his first system, a PS4. He had been talking about wanting a system for the past few months...

We are thinking about a play station for 9 year old. He has been begging for a particular game for about 4-5 months. He currently does not have any gaming systems

Title says it all: when did your child get their first gaming system and which one was it and why? Bonus if you can remember how long your kid begged for one before they got it! Thanks.
