I agree with others to be hopeful but cautiously so. I also obsessed about the doubling times and was on that website with the beta calculator 1 million times a day. longer time goes on the slower the betas are to double.

I've had success before this loss (twice) -- but both times I went through many procedures and losses. This was my first loss in trying for a 3rd, and I haven't tried again since the loss because my beta is still not negative.


oh man =( when did you have your miscarriage? (like how many months/weeks ago)


My D&C was on Sep. 12!

I’m gtatefyl for the doubling but from all I’ve read the very low first beta puts me in like 13-14% chance of live birth

I had a low beta of 29 at 9dp5dt with the next one at 32 at 11dp. It did start to double normally after that, but the fact the second didn't double was a pretty clear sign something wasn't right. It ended up being an empty sac pregnancy.

I'd say "cautiously optimistic" is a good way to go about it. Your numbers did double very nicely, which is a very good sign. Some people just have low betas, so it could really mean nothing. Good luck on your first ultrasound!

I'm sorry you're in limbo, OP. It's really stressful and could go either way... yes, the numbers are on the lower end, but according to Betabase (http://www.betabase.info/chart/basic/single) they're not so low that I would assume a miscarriage is imminent. Fingers crossed for you.
