We said it three weeks in, but it was mutual. Got married a year later. Been happily married 8 years now with kids. Although, we said it in person. I would just wait now and not bring it up again until he makes the next move.

It's a gamble.

You love the idea of him at this point but mostly what you feel is infatuation and chemistry.

It can come across as a red flag for sure or if the other person feels kind of the same way and seems similar potential, you can ride it out.

Don't say it again soon.

We got married, as well. Although, it was awkward after I said it (four months after we started dating).

Within two months when we were in college.

Still together in our late 30s.

What was initial reaction?

I said it at like 4 months. Took DH like another year and a half to say it. We're married, super happily.

I never said it early in relationships. I sometimes thought it early and would just sit on it. Because you don't REALLY love this person. You love how you feel when you're with this person.

As a recipient of an early I love you, it was always a tiny bit of a red flag to me. That the other person was looking for something that wasn't even necessarily about me. Because again, a few weeks in you don't know each other.

Good luck.

Thanks for your kind response. I understand all of it.

Three weeks in. I don't regret it. I knew I wouldn't hear it back and could possibly end everything. He feels like HOME. This was done over text. His response was: It's nice to be loved. Hold on to that feeling. I said: you hold on and he said he will. I asked if everything I felt was only on my side and he said no. He asked me to call him the next day (today) and said Nite Sweetie. Anybody ever done this and what happened? I am relieved I got this out of the way.
