This essay says it pretty nicely, if you imagine us teaching our children any other childhood activity the way we teach them sports you can see the absolute absurdity of our approach to youth sports.

Imagine looming over your child coloring and screaming at them for going out of the lines. Ridiculous, right? So why would you do that at a soccer game? Why should you allow their coach to do that?

Anonymous wrote:2 parents were ejected to day from a U15 youth soccer match. They were unhappy with the calls and stepped on the field to yell at the ref, dropping F-bombs at a youth soccer match.
The boys on the field, for both teams, handled themselves much better than the parents.
