I use hand sanitizer when we get there and when leaving, and wash their hands well when we get home. Other than that, I try not to worry. Those places are fun for kids, and most of them try to keep up the cleaning pretty well.

Meh. We go to these places plenty, and the kids rarely get sick (knock wood). They get colds and stuff, but I'm a firm believer that a moderate degree of challenge builds a strong immune system.

I'm a germaphobe, but trying hard not to let that affect my kid's childhood. Assuming your child doesn't have special medical issues, exposure to germs is okay. And it's even okay if they get sick.

All that said, when I am planning on traveling with the family, I tend to be more cautious about stuff like this.

I think about it less now that my kids are well beyond putting everything they see in their mouths. But I still make them change their clothes and bathe the second we get home. Yes. I'm definitely a weirdo.

I think about it, but just use hand sanitizer afterward.

Do you think going to these places in the fall and winter just asking for a virus? We were invited today and it’s super tempting but I really don’t want to deal with God knows what in 48 hours...am I being a weirdo?
