DC gives away parking basically for free because most of the DC government bureaucracy is car dependent. Old school Washingtonians live in SFH neighborhoods in NE and SE DC, or PG County. They are not reliant on public transport and are pissed off that they can no longer easily zip around DC and parking for free.

DDOT and DPW will basically kick and scream before they are forced by the City Council to enforce the law. DDOT is actively hostile to adding bike lanes - they've been raked over the coals by the Council multiple times for their intransigence.

They make their rounds daily. DDOT has become much more attuned to the impact of the hospital renovation and has stepped up enforcement in the neighborhood of out-of-state vehicles and non-Zone 2 vehicles.

There's free parking for about 7 cars on 34th street but you have to move your car by rush hour. Ticket-man rarely makes it to 35th street.

i work here as well. fortunately able to park in SWQ garage.

the hospital construction project is a huge PITA for the campus parkers since it removed so much of the ground level level parking.

once the project is complete with the new underground garages it will be back to normal. but thats a few years away.

Not the other posters, but yes there is a shuttle bus that runs between the campus and the Wisconsin Ave parking lot

You're f#cked. Take public transportation. GT really screwed up the parking situation with the renovation. And the local DC government issues parking tickets in the neighborhood like crazy.

I am hoping to find an off-street parking space near Georgetown University starting January 2020. The parking space is needed only on weekdays and would ideally be close to the north side of campus near Reservoir Rd. Please respond if you have any leads. Thanks!
