My kid has Under Armour and Nike shoes with orthotics without any problem. Just tear out the existing inserts...as others said, they are glued in, but you can pull them out.

If they are half-shoe orthotics, you can try to cut the top half of the existing inserts so that there is some padding at the top and helps the orthotic from slipping forward when putting the shoe on. My kid decided it was more comfortable without the half-cut insert, so we only use the orthotic now.

Pumas have a removable insert. They have a picture of a foot on it so you're actually supposed to take them out and have the kid stand on it to make sure the shoe is the right size, which I find very helpful.

Plae. Inserts are removable. Lots of kids with orthotics go for that brand (i'm in a Plae resell group on FB).

My kid's Tsukihoshi sneakers have removable inserts. I think Pedipeds do too.

The orthotic doesn't fit correctly, if it sits on top of the existing insert. There is no room for her feet, for instance.

I have to take the inserts out for my orthotics as well. That's what the podiatrist asks us to do.

Is there a reason you need to take the insert out? My orthotics just slide right in.

Problem is, none of her shoes have inserts that can be taken off, so the orthotic can fit in there instead! Tried the sneakers, tennis shoes, ankle boots, tall boots, just none. Anyone know of a brand that makes kids shoes with removable inserts?
