Actually that’s false. Last month, I had SIX false positive pregnancy tests with the clinical guard strips from amazon. I spent the weekend thinking I was pregnant after 3+ years and went for blood work and nope. Went to leave a nasty review on amazon and after reading through them, saw multiple others who had the same issue with this brand. The tests were blazing positives within 1 minute but they were all false.

That's awful, I'm so sorry.

Yes, same. I am so sorry.

Except blue dye tests can have an evaporation line that looks faintly blue, but it’s not. Hence the confusion. https://www.romper.com/p/whats-wrong-with-blue-dye-pregnancy-tests-ob-gyn-explains-76052

Yes I came to say this. The only time I got false positive was on a blue-dye test. It was devastating, as I was desperate to be pregnant. Never buy those!

OP here. Tested with a FRER this morning and it was positive, so the CVS test was correct. Still, I am horrified that they sell tests that could so easily produce a false positive.

How are they even allowed to sell these?

I had a false positive with that exact cvs brand test. There really was a strong second line.

No such thing as a false positive unless you have hcg in your system from a trigger shot.

Ok thank you. That’s frustrating! Will buy a pink test tomorrow.

Blue dye tests can look like a very faint positive when they’re not. You can get better tests at the dollar store, or get the CVS store brand pink dye test (assuming you’re trying to save money and not buy the FRER).

I've heard false positives are pretty rare but test with the digital for a clear answer.

My DH picked these up for me. I tested and there is definitely a faint blue line but online reviews say tons of false positives for the blue dye tests. What do you think? I will get a name brand test tomorrow but wondering for now.
